By hiring a kit from Farnborough Cloth Nappy Library you are agreeing to the following terms & conditions:
1. Hire Term
1.1 The hire term for Birth to Potty kits is four weeks from the date of reservation start
1.2 The hire term for Newborn kits is eight weeks from the date of reservation start
1.3 Nappies may be requested for an extended period, providing they are not already reserved by another client. It is essential the nappies are returned on time (unless an agreement has been reached to extend the initial hire period, such requests must be made in writing)
1.3.1 A late fee of £1.00 per day will be applied to un-arranged late returns
1.4 Each nappy is carefully inspected and cleaned before each hire period, and will be jointly inspected by you and library volunteer upon return - please allow time for this joint inspection to happen when arranging your return appointment.
2. Hire Fee
2.1 A fee of £5.00 per fortnight will be payable before receipt of your kit, any additional charges incurred for extension of loan are payable at point of agreement of the extension. All monies earned by the library remain within the library to cover annual operating costs, and replacement or extension of kits as required.
2.2 A £50 deposit will be taken at the beginning of all hire agreements, this is to protect the library against loss or damage to kit items.
3. Hire agreement
3.1 You agree that you are aware that the items hired to you are likely to be previously used.
3.2 You agree to take good care of the nappies and to only wash them as per the written instructions provided. Nappies must be washed and dried in line with these instructions and all components must be clean and dry when returned to us. If we become aware of you washing library nappies using methods or detergents/additives outside of those in the washing guidelines your deposit will be withheld to cover any future replacements required
3.2.1 Between each hire the FCNL volunteer will strip wash of the entire kit using an added oxygen-based bleaching agent for sanitisation, it is advised that all users wash the kit once before use, ensuring the kits are washed a minimum of three times between hires
3.2.2 Mild staining to clean nappies will not affect the return of your deposit
3.3 You agree to use a liner as provided in your kit in every nappy when a nappy cream has been used within the nappy area.
3.3.1 In the event that your baby develops a rash which requires prescribed creams or medicines, you agree to inform us immediately, in some circumstances we may ask you to stop using the library nappies and return them, if this is the case we will offer a full refund for your hire period.
3.4 In the event of any loss or damage other than fair wear and tear you will forfeit the amount of your deposit paid to cover replacement, in the event replacement costs are greater than the deposit paid you agree to pay the difference
3.5 In the event of any problem with the hired nappies you agree to inform us immediately, if advice is sought and followed from anyone other than a Farnborough Nappy Library volunteer this could lead to retainment of your deposit if it goes against our standard guidelines
4. Liability
4.1 You agree that Farnborough Cloth Nappy Library will not accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered by any persons choosing not to follow our careful advice. We will not assume liability for any issues arising from the misuse of any products or if the products offered are not suitable for your child.
4.2 Farnborough Cloth Nappy Library does not assume liability for any issues arising from the misuse of any hired nappies, or if the hired nappies offered are not suitable for your baby. You also hereby agree that we are not responsible for any faulty product, due to the inclusion of used items in the kits.
4.3 Farnborough Cloth Nappy Library does not guarantee or make claims of the efficacy, successfulness or otherwise of any particular brand or style of nappy or accessories, due to the extreme variability in shape and size of babies, as well as variability inherent in the process of using reusable nappies itself.
4.4 Farnborough Nappy library is fully insured, our policy covers the use and care of our nappies in line with the methods we have set out.
5. Privacy
5.1 Any personal information provided to us as part of your hire agreement will remain private and confidential. Your information will never be shared with any other parties. From time to time you may be contacted by email, telephone or post by Farnborough Cloth Nappy Library to let you know of any events or information we feel may be of use to you.

Farnborough Nappy Library is supported by Hampshire County Council covering the set-up costs and is run by volunteers. All money raised through hire fees remains within the library to cover annual operating costs such as insurance and marketing costs, any remaining funds will be used to replace or increase hire kits.
